The Meeting has gon on the record multiple times opposing the Death Penalty, the most recent time being in May, 2009, when we reaffirmed our stance in th econtext of a bill before the New Hampshire iegislature.
09-050 Support for Repeal of Death Penalty in New Hampshire, Bill 556: Monadnock Monthly
Meeting, Society of Friends, assembled at Jaffrey, NH on April 12, 2009 does not support the use of
the death penalty due to our religious beliefs. We believe that God lives within everyone and that it is
our responsibility to care for one another regardless of the circumstances. In accordance with our long
standing Peace Peace we believe that it is not within human jurisdiction to to take a human life. We
support Bill 556 and ask that our New Hampshire legislators support the abolition of the death penalty. (May 2009)
